I’m on the brink of a decision, but I’m not quite sure just yet. I’ve considered not wearing a veil, wearing a bird-cage veil or an elbow length, single tier veil. I still LOVE bird-cage veils, but I don’t think they look right on me…I just can’t pull it off.
These brides can though…
They look great! I just didn’t get that “wow” feeling when I tried a few on. Maybe it had something to do with me not having my makeup or hair all done?! Hmph…but seriously, when I tried bird-cage veils on for my mom, sister and a friend I was told “don’t do it!” And even I was like “hmmm…maybe not.” So I’m not doing it!
I went back and forth about not wearing a veil too…you’ve read about my love affair with fabric flowers in previous posts. So I was thinking I could pull off just wearing a fabric flower in my hair or even a headband to keep my bangs out of my face. I adore this flower…
and this headband…
With the headband, I could wear my hair like this…
Kind of a hippie chic look. It’s actually similar to my favorite hair style…
I love loose, natural looking waves…I attempt to style my hair like this daily! But I’m not sure that I can wear a flower or headband if I go with this style. I guess it depends on how my hair would look in the front and what I decide to do with my bangs. However, I do think a veil would look good. I’m also not sure I can pull off a flower, because there is a flower pin on my dress. I don’t want to have too many flowers going on! And I love the idea of a headband holding my hair out of my face, but sometimes they give me headaches, they can get uncomfortable or they move around and get a little annoying especially when you wear one for more than 10 hours which is exactly what I’ll be doing on the big day. The only thing I’m positive about is that I want to wear my hair down and wavy, like I usually do. On my wedding day, I don’t want to look like a stranger to Mr. P…I want to look like me, but slightly more glamorous!
I’ve tried on a few veils, but once I put one on with my dress, it really hit me. Holy crap, I’m a bride and I’m getting married!!!!!!!!!!!! So by the end of this post and after writing down all my thoughts, I’ve decided that I am a veil bride. I’m going to order one this weekend and make it official!! And a headband is still an option too, but it might be too much. Maybe a veil for the ceremony and a headband for the reception? Spice it up a little!
So what do you think…should I wear a headband?

ahhhh you’re getting married. I have to say, I LOVE your reasoning for not getting crazy dolled up…u don’t want to look like a stranger to Mr.P! Although headbands are totally you, I think wearing one for 10 hours is CRAZY. You will eventually get annoyed or get a headache. What about for at the reception?

I definitely thinking about one for just the reception. Plus it will keep my bangs and any loose hairs out of my face!
