Honeymoon planning is in full effect!! Mr. P and I booked our first hotel in Italy and we finally figured out our plan for our trip. We’re still trying to figure out the flight…there’s so many options and I’m not the best decision maker. I’m probably one of the most indecisive people you’ll ever meet!!
I mentioned in my earlier post that we were looking into visiting the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Sicily, Tuscany and hopefully Volterra. Well, we’re only visiting two of those destinations. Our plan is to visit Rome for two nights, then head over to Cinque Terre for three nights, and finally end up in Tuscany and stay there for the bulk of our trip. Do you know what this means? I get to go to Volterra!!! And get this…Mr. P wants to visit too! Obviously for different reasons than me. I’m a sucker for anything Twilight related…and I’m not ashamed! So here’s a funny story…at least it was to me. We were watching TV the other day and researching hotels when this conversation ensued…
Mr. P: ”Did you know Volterra is a vampire town?”
Me: “Yeah…of course I knew. Why did you think I wanted to go? They have Twilight tours and we’re so going on one!”
Mr. P: (chuckling) “OK babe.”
He’s such a good sport about incorporating my crazy tours into this trip. But Volterra was one of Rick Steves’ favorites so I didn’t have to do much convincing at all to get him to go there! It might take some coaxing to get him to join me on the Twilight tour though!!
Anyways, we haven’t booked much, but have been researching everything like crazy! The only hotel we’ve booked so far is in Cinque Terre. We’ll be staying at the Hotel Villa Steno which we found in Rick Steves’ book…what would I do without him? He’s like my own personal tour guide of Italy!! So all we need now is a hotel in Rome, a place to stay in Tuscany and possibly a hotel in Florence. I can’t wait to go to Italy…this has definitely been the best part of the wedding to plan!
If anyone has any tips or must-see places, please let me know…I always love to hear recommendations from fellow travelers!
In the mean time, I’ll leave you with these pictures for the weekend…
